What is Games Careers Week?

A celebration of games careers with nationwide events reaching millions of parents, learners, teachers, job-seekers and >50 games organisations.

Who runs Games Careers Week?

Games Careers Week is a service operated & funded by the charity the BGI, Grads in Games CIC and Into Games CIC, non-profit organisations working to advance games education in the UK.

Why do we need it?

Most parents and young people, especially diverse people, don’t know the UK supports >25,000 well-paid, creative tech jobs in games. And our workforce isn’t diverse, unlike our population and players. It’s time for change, at this key moment for digital skills.

How are we going to change things?

We will showcase the skills, pathways and potential of games careers to the public through events and media, foregrounding diverse developers, working with an amazing range of organisations.

Who’s it for? We’ll inspire:

• School children to choose & study the creative tech skills needed to thrive in the modern world.

• Parents to challenge gender stereotypes & guide children towards well-paid creative careers.

• Educators to find resources with accessible games tools and teach STEAM skills in classrooms.

• Job-seekers of all ages to find resources and prepare to start careers in games

• Games studios to work with schools & universities and share their career opportunities.
